By myself I have sworn; from my mouth has gone out in righteousness a word that shall not return: ‘To me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear allegiance.’ – Isaiah 45:23
So I was walking through the mall earlier today, and I saw this poster…
It got me thinking.
We do wear our allegiance.
-Our favorite sports team/person.
– Favorite singer.
-Celebrity.
The list could go on.
The real question is that why do we not wear our allegiance for Christ in the world in which we walk?
Now, I know some of you are going to say…. ‘I WEAR CHRISTIAN T-SHIRTS!!!’
That is not what I’m talking about. I’m talking about this becoming a lifestyle. Not just a t-shirt or brand. I’m talking about walking this thing we call our Christian life out in our everyday life.
How?
In the way we carry ourselves. Our speech, our attitude, and so on…if Jesus TRULY has our heart… our life should look different. It should sound different. It should be DIFFERENT.
We should not be seeking to assert our rights.
Look at this verse: Matt 16:24
24 Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
When our allegiance is to JESUS we deny ourselves, we strive to make much of HIM, we die to our sinful nature.
How can we wear our allegiance for Jesus in the culture in which we live? We engraft the word of God (The Bible) into our very spirit and soul. It has to be our foundation. If God’s word is not your cornerstone you’ll fall to the dangers of this culture. You will begin to think and believe that sin is not really sin, and then you begin to give ground over to satan and that is exactly what he longs for and wants you to do.
Make your foundation and cornerstone God’s word, and you won’t go wrong in life!!
